HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS ROUNDUP

• Ru s s e l l v i l l e 4, Florence 2: Ty Engelthaler took a shutout into the fifth and Gunner Sappington threw 2 1/3 shutout innings for the Golden Tigers (3-1). They combined to strike out 12. Brennon Thorpe scored twice. John Carter Goolesby reached twice, scored and knocked in a run for the Falcons (0-1).

• Belgreen 15, Cherokee 2: Brayden Messer and Rush Berryman both reached base three times and scored three runs for the Bulldogs (1-0). Messer also collected three RBIs and Berryman two. Mykel Goodloe reached base twice and scored for the Indians (0-1).

• Phil Campbell 8, Haleyville 7: Koltin Hester threw four hitless innings for the Bobcats (1-0). He allowed three runs (one earned), struck out three and walked three. Cooper McNutt scored three times for the Lions (2-1).

• Muscle Shoals 12, West Point 5: Drew Conner knocked in four runs, while Carter Berryhill reached base four times and scored three runs for the Trojans (2-0).

• Wilson 12, Colbert Heights 5: Brenton Stricklin threw three hitless innings for the Warriors (3-0). Braxton Glaze knocked in two runs, while Jack Darby reached base three times, stole two bases and scored twice. Owen Hood scored and had an RBI for the Wildcats (1-1).

• Sheffield 13, Lexington 6: Bryant Doll posted four RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Bulldogs (2-1). Jeremiah Fletcher and Jaylen Gangar scored three times each. Lawrence Corum knocked in three and Tate Gamble scored twice for the Golden Bears (1-1).

• Rogers 7, Sheffield 3: Griffen Herston’s three RBIs and Curtis Campbell’s two runs led the Pirates (1-0). Jeremiah Fletcher reached base three times, scored and had an RBI for the Bulldogs (1-1).

• Lexington 7, Rogers 2: Conner Scheetz had two RBIs and scored twice to lead the Golden Bears (1-0). Keeton Hines reached base three times for the Pirates (1-1).

• Hackleburg 20, Shoals Christian 0: JonHasten Stidham reached base three times, scored twice and drove in five runs for the Panthers (1-0). Ross Hudson reached base four times, had three RBIs and scored twice. Malachi Sewell and Rylan Pettus each collected one of the two hits for the Flame (0-1).

• Hamilton 8, Gordo 3: Jackson Chandler scored three times and Houston Tibbs had three RBIs for the Aggies (1-1).

• Itawamba AHS (Miss.) 8, Hamilton 0: Itawamba’s Cayden Prestage struck out 15 in five innings, Braeden Dobbs whiffed five, and the Aggies (1-2) mustered two hits and one walk.

Softball

• Phil Campbell 9, Tremont (Miss.) 5: Addi James drove in three runs and threw a five-hitter for the Bobcats (1-0). Chaley Bullington reached base four times with an RBI and run scored. Shiloh Madden scored twice.

• Lawrence County (Ala.) 11, Brooks 10: Bella Cross’ walk-off sacrifice fly scored Ava Templeton for the Red Devils. Baylee Darby and Preslie Bunch both reached base three times for the Lions (0-1).

Boys Soccer

• Muscle Shoals 2, Hartselle 2: Silas Weeks scored twice for the Trojans (1-0-1). Gabe Lindholm recorded four saves and Isaiah Kent one. Muscle Shoals hosts Florence on Thursday.

• Mars Hill 8, Wilson 0: Caden Danley celebrated his birthday with a goal for Mars Hill (4-1). Henry Mann added two goals and two assists for the Panthers, who had six players score overall against the Warriors (0-1). Mars Hill hosts Russellville on Tuesday.

Girls Soccer

• Brooks 2, Lawrence County (Ala.) 0: Kyle Jess and Sophie Gooch scored for the Lions (2-1).

• Mars Hill 10, Wilson 0: Harper Gurley’s four goals and an assist led the Panthers (3-0-1), while Evan Ann Bowling had three goals and two assists. Lizzie Bridges and Cailee Danley also scored. Wilson (0-1) suffered an own-goal.
