Lots to love in Franklin County

Love is in the air … but so is friendship and the love of family.

Valentine’s Day is almost upon us, and we hope you will enjoy spending time with your friends, family or significant other. There are lots of ways to enjoy spending time together while making memories to last, and plenty of those possibilities are right here in Franklin County.

If the weather’s nice, consider a picnic at one of our many local parks, including City Lake Park or Sloss Lake in Russellville, Bay Tree Park in Red Bay, Hodges Town Park or Memorial Park in Phil Campbell. Other possibilities include one of our area campgrounds or other outdoor areas. Or one of our many local restaurants. Or perhaps try an “indoor picnic,” using special touches to provide a pleasant atmosphere.

Sharing a special meal is often a good choice, and it wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without chocolate and flowers. From simple to fancy and everything in between, these are two things many people like and can enjoy together.

Make the day your own. Don’t get so lost in the details you forget to enjoy the special moments you can create.

Be creative. Make your own card. Perform a random act of kindness. Do something nice without needing credit. Share your favorite memory of someone. Let them know how they’ve had a positive impact on your life.
