Russellville Park and Recreation hosts Countdown to Christmas

Russellville Parks and Recreation has planning underway for an inaugural “Countdown to Christmas” event to take place in downtown Russellville at the A.W. Todd Centre, 201 Washington Ave. SW, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission will be $5.

The event is meant to help local vendors promote their products while encouraging the community to remember to shop “small and local” when looking to purchase items for Christmas.

Some of the items that will be available for purchase include trucker caps, permanent jewelry, candles, baby clothing, bibs and burb cloths, Western wear, bath bombs and soap, personalized wrapping paper, cups and notecards, crocheted items, kitchen towels, purses, Bravenly products, apothecary items, screen-printed clothing, detergent, jewelry, sweet treats and scrapbook items.

“We are over the moon about our festive Christmas Countdown event,” said Russellville Parks and Recreation event coordinator Denese Gault. “Be ready to ‘sleigh’ your holiday shopping with these merry musthave items! We hope this will be a success so we can continue this tradition for years to come and that it continues to grow with more vendors. We hope to see everyone there!”
