Picks contest continues as season winds down

Although the regular high school football season is past its midpoint, you still have a few chances left to try your hand at our Play & Win football picks contest.

As sports writer Bart Moss points out in this week’s sports section, our local teams have three weeks left of regular play. The season won’t end in three weeks, as Russellville has already earned a berth in the Class 5A playoffs, and Red Bay could, with a little work, be a three or four seed in the Class 2A playoffs. So the picks contest will see an extension as well – but before that, we still have some regular season to play.

We’ve awarded $25 prizes to some awesome pickers this season. Don’t miss your chance to be one of them!

Each week we put out a lineup of games for you to choose which teams will be the winners. Our lineup typically includes all Franklin County teams plus a selection of regional games.

To play, circle the team you think will win each match-up – or, if you’re taking advantage of the online version of the contest form, select the circle next to your choice.

In case we need a tiebreaker, we also choose one game and ask you to predict the score.

Then just share your name, phone number and address – and that’s it! Enter your submission for a chance to win $25.

Every week the contest form can be found on page B8 of the paper and on our website at www.franklincountytimes.com. It’s easy and fun, and you can play even if you can’t make it out to a football game – although you definitely should. What’s fall without football?

The contest is made possible in part by local sponsors, and we encourage you to support these businesses.
