PCHS baseball player signs with UT Southern
Kyle Pace became the twelfth Phil Campbell baseball player of the Jonathan Raper era to sign a baseball scholarship on Sunday.
Pace will continue his education and baseball playing days at UT-Southern in Pulaski, Tenn. He joins three other Bobcats, Ridge and Sage Raper, on the diamond for the Firehawks.
Pace was a pitcher and third baseman for the Bobcats. He batted .413 with 17 extra base hits, 54 RBIs and scored 39 runs on this year’s Class 3A final four team.
On the mound, Pace went 3-3, allowing 14 earned runs, a 2.12 ERA and struck out 59 batters.
“Kyle is a hard worker,” said his coach Jonathan Raper. “He is a very good player and gets better as the years goes on, especially down the stretch in the playoffs. He has a good arm and hits the ball well.”
