Phil Campbell baseball gets two Saturday wins

The Phil Campbell Bobcats picked up two big Saturday wins in Florence. Phil Campbell beat Central 4-1 and Lawrence County 12-4.

Robbie Robinson continued to have a hot bat for the Bobcats, going two for four with an RBI and scoring a run in the 4-1 win over Central.

Central held a 1-0 lead through four innings, but the Bobcats scored three runs in the fifth to race past the Wildcats.

Eli Taylor got the win for Phil Campbell, allowing no earned runs and six hits and striking out seven.

Phil Campbell 12, Lawrence County 4

The Bobcat bats were alive for the 12-4 rout of Lawrence County. Phil Campbell pounded out 15 hits in the game.

The Bobcats started out hot, scoring six runs in the first inning, and led 8-0 before the Red Devils cut the lead in half in the fourth inning.

Robinson had two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs, and he scored twice.

Hunter Baker, Kyle Pace and Koltin Hester all doubled.

Baker went three for three with two RBIs and scored. Cam Habada had three hits and scored twice.

Kyle Pace had two hits and two RBIs. Cody Quinn had two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Sage Raper had a hit, RBI and run. Bryant Anthony scored three times.

Cole Pace had a shaky start on the mound. Hester came in to relieve him and went four innings without allowing a hit or run and struck out five.

Hamilton 8, Phil Campbell 5

The Bobcats fell to Hamilton 8-5 earlier in the week. The Aggies jumped out to a 5-0 lead, giving them all the momentum they needed to win.

The Bobcats didn’t help themselves with five errors in the field.

Kyle Pace and Hunter Baker had two hits each. Habada scored twice.
