Junior Bobcat Cam Habada leads Phil Campbell past Haleyville

Junior Cam Habada did it all for Phil Campbell in a 9-0 shutout win over Haleyville this past week.

Habada went two-for-four with three RBIs at the plate. On the mound, Habada was equally effective, striking out 15 batters and allowing two hits.

Habada started everything off for the Bobcats in the bottom of the first inning with a two-RBI double, scoring Bryant Anthony and Mason Swinney.

In the bottom of the third, Habada singled in Anthony again to give Phil Campbell a 3-0 lead.

The Bobcats added to their lead in the fourth with a two-RBI double by Sage Raper scoring Eli Taylor and Cole Pace. Anthony had an RBI double later in the inning, scoring Raper to make it 6-0.

Kyle Pace and Jacob Barnwell scored on errors in the fifth inning to increase the lead to 8-0.

A Swinney double in the sixth rounded out the scoring for the Bobcats, scoring Anthony.

Anthony scored three runs. The Bobcats got two hits each by Raper, Anthony, Swinney and Habada.

Haleyville committed six errors.

TWO BIG WINS OVER WEST MORGAN

The Bobcat bats came alive in a Saturday series against the West Morgan Rebels. Phil Campbell beat West Morgan 12-1 and 10-1.

In the first game of the series, West Morgan took an early 1-0 lead, but it was all Bobcats after that. Phil Campbell took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning and blew the game open in the fourth inning, scoring six runs to take an 8-1 lead.

Hunter Baker had an RBI triple to cap off the Bobcats’ big fourth inning, scoring both Anthony and Swinney.

Cole Pace got the win on the mound.

In game two of the series, Phil Campbell pounded out 11 hits. Sage Raper went three-for-three with three RBIs and scored three runs. Swinney went three-for-three with two RBIs, two runs and a double. Habada went three-for-three with four RBIs, a run and a double.

Swinney got the win in his first appearance on the mound this year, going two and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and striking out four.
