Jeffrey Lyle Pennington

Jeffrey Lyle Pennington, 63, of Russellville passed away Dec. 10 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence. The family has chosen cremation, and memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Jeffrey was born Oct. 2, 1958, in Vernon to the late Philip Otts Pennington and the late Nellie Mae Hollis Pennington. He graduated from Haleyville High School. He was an Eagle Scout and loved any outdoor activity. He enjoyed hiking, canoeing and camping.

He is survived by his brother, Philip Otts Pennington Jr. (Faye), Jackson, Miss.; sisters, Nina Elaine Chance (Edwin), Hamilton, Miss., and Janis Weinberger (Dominic), Gastonia, N.C.; ex-wife and lifelong friend, Hazel Askew Pennington, Russellville; and several nieces and nephews, who he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Otts and Nellie Mae Pennington.
