Red Bay upends Sheffield

Aiden Quinn scored three touchdowns to lead the Red Bay Tigers to a 34-20 win over the Sheffield Bulldogs Friday.

Quinn carried the ball 11 times for 101 yards and three scores in the win.

Red Bay scored first on a one-yard run by Quinn to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead.

Red Bay added another score in the first quarter on a three-yard run by Quinn to extend the lead to 14-0.

Sheffield had a big 46-yard run early in the second quarter to cut Red Bay’s lead to 14-7, but the Tigers responded with another Quinn touchdown, this one from 11 yards out, to give Red Bay a 20-7 lead.

Sheffield cut into Red Bay’s lead again early in the third quarter on a 22-yard run. Once again, the Tigers responded with a score. This time it was Blake Nix with the score for Red Bay to extend Red Bay’s lead to 26-14.

The Tigers added a final score early in the fourth quarter on a run by Holden Inman to extend Red Bay’s lead to 34-14.

Gage Edgemon completed five of eight passes for 73 yards. Quinn also led defensively with five tackles.

Red Bay will host Hatton this week.
