Vina lost to Hackleburg but beat Philips 9-8 to remain in contention. Vina and Hackleburg will play at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Belgreen.

The winner will face Belgreen in the finals at 5:30 p.m.

Red Bay is in the driver’s seat of the Class 2A Area14 tournament. Red Bay beat Colbert County 17-0 to wrest control of the tournament in the winner’s bracket.

Colbert County had beat Tharptown 4-3 earlier in the day.

Tharptown will have to play the Indians again Thursday at 3 p.m. to remain in contention. The winner will play Red Bay in the finals at 5 p.m.

Phil Campbell will have to climb out of the loser’s bracket in the Class 3A Area 15 tournament being held at Danville. Phil Campbell lost to East Lawrence 10-7 and beat Vinemont 10-9 Monday.
