Tharptown Lady Wildcats’ bats take down Colbert County 18-13

The Tharptown Wildcats bats were on fire against the Colbert County Indians this past week. The Wildcats racked up 23 hits in an 18-13 win over the Indians in an area matchup.

Taylor Cameron hit two home runs, and Harleigh Borden had a five-hit game, to lead Tharptown to the win.

Cameron had a two-out shot in the first inning. She struck again in the top of the fifth with a solo shot to centerfield.

Cameron ended the game with the two homers, three RBIs and four runs.

Borden legged out three doubles and a triple. She ended the game with five hits, five RBIs and three runs.

Tharptown had to rally from behind to beat Colbert County. The Indians led 9-5 at the end of the third inning.  Tharptown put up eight runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 13-9 lead.

Tharptown scored three more in the top of the fifth and two in the sixth to put the game on ice.

Leslie Staggs also had a good game at the plate with three hits, two of which were doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored.
