Lady Red Devils improve their area record

The Vina Lady Red Devils improved their area record to 4-1 with an easy 57-27 win over Phillips this past week.

Vina led 26-14 at halftime before exploding for 25 points in the third quarter to put the game away.

Three Red Devils had double-doubles: Abbie Mitchell led Vina with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Sara Scott added 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Kaitlyn Athey had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Phil Campbell 77, Fayette County 34

The Phil Campbell Bobcats walloped the Fayette County Tigers 77-34 this past week. The Bobcats were led by Caitlynn Mills with 18 points, followed by Olivia Taylor with 10 points. Kenner Scott and Gracie Vickery had nine points each. Katie Thomas added seven points.

Aliceville 48, Red Bay 45

The Red Bay Tigers fell to area opponent Aliceville 48-45 Saturday.

The Tigers led 36-31 at the end of the third quarter, but Aliceville outscored Red Bay 17-9 in the fourth quarter for the win.

Destiny McCollister led Red Bay with 14 points, followed by Kalie Lindley with 10 points. Macy Faulkner hit three three-pointers for nine points. Madeline Ledbetter and Lila Blackburn scored six points each.
