Tharptown bests Red Bay, Shoals Christian

The Tharptown Wildcats got two easy wins last week over Red Bay and Shoals Christian. The Wildcats outscored their opponents 23-2.

In the Red Bay game, Tharptown took advantage of five Red Bay fielding errors to pick up the area win. Tharptown scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning. Red Bay picked up a run in the top of the fourth, but the Wildcats kept up the pressure with three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth to get the win.

Catie Dawson had a big game at the plate for Tharptown with two hits, including a triple, three RBIs and two runs.

Brooke Daily had three hits and scored two runs. Kyndall Morgan had two RBIs and scored two runs. Shaylee Weiting scored two runs.

Olivia Ergle got the win for the Wildcats in the circle, striking out four and allowing three hits and one run.

In the Shoals Christian game, Olivia Darracott had a big game at the plate with two hits, including a triple, a double, an RBI and two runs.

Leslie Staggs had a home run, two RBIs and two runs. Taylor Cameron had two RBIs, and Weiting scored two runs.

Shoals Christian had a whopping nine fielding errors.
