Hi folks,

The month of August holds a lot of memories. Most are real good, but some are not so good.

Last week my little friend Abby passed. She was 20 years old – that’s 140 years in human years. Katie and I really miss Abby, but we have so many good memories and a lot of pictures that I made through the years. She will certainly be missed, but we will all carry on.

The Watermelon Festival was a real success. A lot of people visited our town, and we had two days of real good business – and also made some new friends.

A couple from Corinth, Miss., came by the store Saturday while attending the festival. We shared a lot of stories, and I felt like I made a couple of new friends by getting to know and visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Waldrep.

Several other people came by the store for the first time. That’s what it’s really all about – making new friends and doing business at the same time.

Mr. and Mrs. Waldrep carried some merchandise back to Corinth, and we really appreciate their business.

Summer has passed so quickly, and most of the holidays have come and gone. The next one will be Labor Day, which is just a few days down the road. Let’s all make plans to enjoy Labor Day 2018.

The new antique store downtown, Five and Dime Antiques and Collectibles (Old Whites 5¢-10¢) has really been busy since they have opened. I talked with Yogi Welborn Saturday, and he is really excited about his new business in downtown Russellville. A lot of collectibles are available. I know you will enjoy paying a visit to this store.

Everyone’s friend, Mr. Bob Justice, passed away this past week. He will certainly be missed. He was a regular visitor at Bojangles and Jack’s. it was always a pleasure to visit with Bob. He was an excellent woodworker and a great artist.

So many friends will miss Bob, but we all have good memories about his days with us.
