RPL welcomes back historian
June 21, Alabama historian Jim Phillips will be at the Russellville Public Library at 1 p.m. Phillips will give a presentation on “Lost and Found: Treasures of the South.”
Phillips is known for his presentations on the history of different counties and places in Alabama. According to Phillips, his forte is “lost Antebellum Alabama.” He researches things like ghost towns, steamboats and stage coach routes. Phillips also collects and appraises items he has found like old coins, jewelry and bottles.
Along with his presentation Thursday, Phillips will be available to appraise old bottles that people bring.
This isn’t Phillips’ first time at RPL. Last year he gave presentations on Antebellum Alabama and D-Day.
