Eli Hiser signs with the Toppers

Belgreen’s top three-point shooter will continue his basketball career beyond high school. Eli Hiser, a 35 percent three-point shooter, signed a basketball scholarship with Blue Mountain College last week.

“I can only thank God for giving me the opportunity to play ball,” said Hiser, “but most importantly to continue my education. Without Him, none of this would be possible.”

Hiser finished the 2017-18 basketball season averaging just under eight points per game, shooting 74 percent from the free throw line and 49 percent from the field. Hiser also had 57 assists and 51 steals for the Bulldogs.

Hiser said he believes his high school experience will help him make the transition to the college level.

“I think the strong work ethic I learned from the teachers and how to love the process and hard work that goes into basketball I learned from Coach Isbell and Coach Simmons will help me,” said Hiser.
