Thank you for support following lightning strike

Dear editor,

The following is an open letter of thanks and appreciation to the people of Russellville.

We, the officers, members and attendees of the First Presbyterian Church of Russellville not only want to publicly thank our Lord but also so many of you for the help, expressions of support and prayers following the recent lightning strike of our church steeple. It has been very heartening to both hear and see the amount of public support that has allowed our church to quickly get on our feet to continue our ministry once more.

Although we will certainly accidentally leave some worthy names out, we especially want to publicly thank the following for their help: Mr. John James, who first reported the strike; Russellville Electric and its manager Mr. Charlie Canida and Brad Bentley, who covered the steeple quickly; Pastor Daryl Butts, who took pictures; the Russellville Police and Russellville Fire departments; our agent and adjusters with Church Mutual Insurance; and P and G Construction, Glasgow Heating and Air and Tim Bradford Heating and Air, who quickly got to work on repairs.

Our members have received scores of phone calls and personal contacts expressing an outpouring of support which cannot be listed here, but you can be certain that none have been taken for granted. May our Lord Jesus bless each of you and bless our city of Russellville.
