Lona Ann Montgomery Vandiver

Lona Ann Montgomery Vandiver, age 70, Tuscumbia, passed away Nov. 18 at Helen Keller Hospital.

Lona was simply described as “a good woman,” who loved her family above anything.

The visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 22 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Gary Yielding. Burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Russellville.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Laurie Scott; son, Jeff Vandiver; grandson, Shawn Vandiver and wife Mary Aaron; granddaughters, Brittany Parrish and husband Alex and Heather Gongaware; great-grandchildren, Jace Gongaware, Jaxon Parrish and Memoree Parrish; friend and companion, Ed Herford; her mother, Dorothy Louise Montgomery; brothers, Don Montgomery and wife Rita, Gary Montgomery and Steve Montgomery and wife Pam; sister, Robin Jackson and husband John; a host of nieces and nephews; and several special friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Lee Montgomery, and great-niece, Emily Jackson.

The pallbearers will be Ryan Romans, Adam Montgomery, Noah Montgomery, Alex Polasky, Tim Aaron and Mike Jones.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to our nurse, Mindy Tidwell; Helen Keller ICU Staff; and Haley Bradford of PCU Unit for your love and care of our family during her illness.
