William “Boyd” Swinney

William “Boyd” Swinney, 82, of Phil Campbell, passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at his residence.

Mr. Swinney was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. He was retired from Ford Motor Company as a die cast operator.

The funeral service was held Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Phil Campbell. Officiating was Jerry Pounders, Eric Swinney and Jason Swinney. The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, until service time.

Survivors include children, Greg Swinney, Sharon Blankenship, Jeff Swinney and Gay Lee; brothers, Harold Swinney, Owen Swinney and Wayne Swinney; sisters, Margaret Welborn, Trixie Pennington, Lona Mauk and Margie Aycock; grandchildren, Bryan Swinney, Zach Swinney, Seth Swinney, Andy Evans, Jarrod Evans, Ira Taylor, Mary Brown, Garrett Lee, Madison Lee and Gracie Lee; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Swinney; and parents, Floyd and Wynona Swinney.
