George Al Fain
George Al Fain, 66, of Huntsville, rode the rocket to heaven, Sept. 21, 2015 after dying suddenly and peacefully in his sleep at their new home in Tuscaloosa.
He was greeted there by his parents James and Lottie Fain and Bill and Ann Wright; his brother, James Fain, and so many other members of his family, dear friends, precious students and his devoted dog, Kobe.
Left with a lifetime memories and his love that will always be clear and present are his wife of 38 years, Jane Wright Fain; his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Kate Fain; his daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Peter Geis; his sisters and brother-and-laws: Jamie and David Chapman, Missy and Ben Richey and Eliza Wright; four nieces and two nephews who adored their Uncle Al, a big extended family and a group of very dear friends he call his “Academy Family”
His friends and family have described Al as a gentle soul and a servant leader with a unique caring and compassionate spirit. He was a teacher who brought joy to learning and did his best to enrich the lives of his very special students. Al enjoyed being outdoors working, gardening and relaxing by the fire. He was an artist who loved creating with wood and delighted in the music of his lifetime. He was a humble man, a classic southern gentleman, who loved his family very deeply and unconditionally and he spent a lifetime caring for them.
A celebration of Al’s life was held in Huntsville, Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015. His family would be honored for you to make a memorial donation to Rom In The Inn Shoals, a interfaith community-based partnership that provides food and shelter to the homeless, 1045 Poplar Street, Florence, 35630.
