Gilbert Franklin Berryman, 82, of Leighton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Berryman was a native of Lawrence County and was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Old Bethel Cemetery, Colbert County. Officiating will be Bobby Amos. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Survivors include wife, Carolyn Berryman; son, Jerry F. Berryman and wife Dianne; daughter, Glenda Garrett and husband Joe; brothers, David Berryman and wife Lynn and Dr. Charles Berryman and wife Vickey; sisters, Chelsea Mae Breeden, Nellie Dean Jeffreys, Shelby Vandiver and husband Douglas, Donna Dreiling; sister-in-law, Melbalene Berryman; grandchildren, Wendy Brewer, Monica Berryman, Whitney Nobles and husband Nathaniel and Brian Berryman and wife Sara Beth; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Aaron (Bill) and Bertha Berryman; stepmother, Virgie Waldrep; brother, Rubert Berryman; and brothers-in-law, Alvin Breeden and T.L. Jeffreys.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Smith, Don, Tip and Danny Berryman, Terrell and Ronnie Jeffreys.
Honorary bearers will be Milton Amos, Billy Amos, Tom Ed Masterson, Jack Masterson, Harold Wayman Smith, Kyle Smith and James Hester.
