Wanda Gail Cansler, 55, of Columbus, Miss. passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her residence.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, Miss. Interment will be in Old Belgreen Cemetery, Russellville.

Ms. Cansler was born July 25, 1959 to the late Curtis K. Hodgins and the late Virginia Sue Jones Hodgins in Blandstuhl, Germany. She was an Account/Purchasing Agent for Lowndes County Schools for 5 years and for MUW 20+ years. An avid animal lover, she was an active supporter of the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society and the Cedar Hill Animal Sanctuary. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse.

Ms. Cansler is survived by sisters, Sandy Sala and husband, Joe, Columbus, Miss. and Susie Hodgins, Columbus, Miss.; brothers, Michael Michael  McDerman and wife, Diane of Nashville, Tenn., Paul McDerman and wife, Tina, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Roger Hodgins, Buffalo, N.Y.; a host of nieces and nephews; and pet companions, Becca and Julie.

Memorials may be made to Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society, 59 Airline Road Columbus, MS 39702 and Cedar Hill Animal Sanctuary, 84 Sanctuary Loop, Caledonia, MS 39740.
