Rickey Hugh Edmond, 59, formerly of Russellville, died Friday, May 1, 2015 at his home.
He was born on May 12, 1955 in Haleyville. He graduated from Russellville High School in 1974. Rickey also graduated from Northwest Shoals and Athens State College with a degree in Physical Education for handicapped children. He also received a degree in administration from Alabama A&M.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vernell Threadgill Edmond; sister, Sheila Ann Edmond; grandparents, Crockett and Nancy Jane Threadgill and Robert and Jewel Edmond.
Survivors are his wife, Rita of 33 years; father, John H. Edmond; sister, Shirley Howard and husband, Thomas; special nephews, Lance and Michael Howard and wife, Sharon; special niece, Johnna Morrow and husband, Mike; great-nieces, Katie Howard, Jessica and Jodie Morrow; great-nephew, Ethan Howard; many aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends from Huntsville are Ron and Sherry Slaughter.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
