Ray Lennan Rowlett, age 88, Carlsbad, New Mexico, formerly of Russellville, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.

Mr. Rowlett proudly served his country for over twenty years in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.  He was a Navy veteran in World War II and an Air Force veteran in the Korean War, from which he retired.  He was awarded several medals and commendations.

Mr. Rowlett made many friends while he lived in Russellville.  He loved to study and discuss the Bible and loved his church friends from North Russellville Baptist.

The visitation will be 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the service following at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel.  Burial will full military honors will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Billie J. Rowlett; his parents, Homer and Inez Rowlett; brothers, Carl and Joe; and sisters, Ramona & Jeanelle.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Velma Rowlett, of Carlsbad, New Mexico; his children, Donna Entrekin and husband, Billy, Jimmy Dale Rowlett and wife, Linda, John Ed Rowlett and wife, Patsy, Janet Massey and husband, A.C.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Robby, Walter, Jonathan, Jeremy, Justin, and Shannon.  Honorary pallbearers will be his friends at North Russellville Baptist Church.
