EarlHomerRidge, 89, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 at Sanctuary Hospice, Tupelo, Miss. He was born in Alabama to Earl and Janie Parson Ridge. He worked at the ASC office in Fulton, Miss. for twenty years and was a school bus driver for Itawamba County Schools for twenty years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. He was a member of PinevilleBaptistChurch where he was the oldest deacon. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Services were Saturday, Feb. 14, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. John Oliver, Bro. J.C. Blackburn and Bro. John Ridge officiating. Burial was in RidgeCemetery, Golden, Miss.
Survivors are one brother, Charles Ridge and wife, Barbara, Golden, Miss.; one sister-in-law, Betty Pugh, Alexander City; seven nieces and nephews, David Kennedy and wife, Karen, and Gary Kennedy and wife, Beverly all of Birmingham, Pattie Levan and husband, Roger Alexander City, John Ridge and wife, Emily, Chattanooga, Tenn., Rita Maxwell and husband, L.D., James Ridge and wife, Wanda, all of Golden, Miss. and Donna Shurleds and husband, Dudley, Mabin, Miss.; nineteen great-nieces and nephews and seventeen great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Gene Ridge, who passed away twenty years to the day, two sisters, Jean Kennedy and Lola Faye Ridge and two brothers-in-law, Charles Kennedy and Kenneth Pugh.
Pallbearers were nephews and great-nephews.
Visitation was Friday, Feb. 13, at Deaton Funeral Home, RedBay.
