Ruth Irene Cooper, 94, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Red Bay and worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for thirty years. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp serving in World War II.

Services were Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Neville Vanderburg officiating. Burial was in RedBay CityCemetery, RedBay.

Survivors are one niece, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Albert “Al” Cooper and Alice Idoner Ross “Rosie” Bonds Cooper and her brothers and sisters, Oscar Floyd Cooper, Arlie Belton Cooper, Nevada Vastile Cooper, Albert Duran “Dutch” Cooper, Pearl Cooper, William Turner “Bill” Cooper, Flora Edith Cooper, Artie Evadell “Johnnie” Cooper, Berniece Inez Cooper, Raymond Lee Cooper and Roy Elvin Cooper.

Pallbearers were Ricky Weaver, Hack Massey, Bill Lindley, James Neal Thompson, Omar Thrasher and James McCalpin.

Visitation was Saturday, Jan.3, 2015, at Deaton Funeral Home, RedBay.
