Tharptown 80, Phil Campbell 51
The Tharptown Wildcats opened up a big second quarter lead en route to a 80-51 win over the Phil Campbell Bobcats. Tharptown led by two, 17-15, at the end of the first quarter. The Wildcats outscored the Bobcats 34-8 in the second quarter to take a 51-23 lead and coasted to the win.
Max Nolen led all scorers 22 points. Bailey Motes added 17 points and Blake Gray added 15 points for Tharptown. Others scoring for the Wildcats were Nathan Chaney (7), Heath Hatton (5), Allen Gaston (5), Mikey Rosson (4), Drake Lawson (3), and Clay Hodge (2).
Hayden Bell led Phil Campbell with 11 points. Gage Roberson and Skylar Tackett score ten points each for the Bobcats. Others scoring for Phil Campbell were Peyton Thomas (8), Noah Williams (5), Hayden Copeland (5), and Jacob Anthony (2).
Phillips 74, Belgreen 56
The Belgreen Bulldogs couldn’t overcome a strong first quarter by the Phillips Bears as the lost 74-56. Phillips opened up a ten point lead in the first quarter. Phillips extended the lead to 34-20 by halftime.
Belgreen was led by Ben Inman’s game-high 19 points. Cade Parrish added 12 points. Others scoring for the Bulldogs were Abram Thorn (8), Dakota Davis (7), Shawn Jones (4), Frankey Wallace (3), Joseph Welch (2), and Payton Scott (1).
Belgreen 79, Vina 37
The Vina Red Devils led the Belgreen Bulldogs 17-16 at the end of the first quarter but could only manage 20 more points throughout the game as Belgreen pulled away in each of the successive quarters for the 79-37 win.
Belgreen outscored Vina 23-8 in the second quarter and 23-6 in the third quarter to put the game away.
Belgreen was led by Cade Parrish’s game-high 24 points. Shawn Jones added 12 points for the Bulldogs and Dakota Davis and Joseph Welch scored 10 points each. Others scoring for Belgreen were Abram Thorn (6), Ben Inman (5), Frankey Wallace (4), Shane Devaney (4), Payton Scott (2), and Nathaniel Roe (2).
Hunter Haithcock led Vina with 20 points. Others scoring for the Red Devils were Ryder Steele (9), Eli Hiser (4), Chance Griffith (3), and Jon Emerson (1).
Tharptown 69, Cherokee 41
The Tharptown Wildcats outscored the Cherokee Indians 27-6 in the second quarter en route to a 69-41 blowout win.
The Wildcats led 14-10 at the end of the first quarter. By halftime the score was 41-16 as they coasted to the win.
Heath Hatton led Tharptown with 12 points. Nathan Chaney added 11 points and Blake Gray scored ten points in the victory. Others scoring for Tharptown were Max Nolen (9), Drake Lawson (8), Mikey Rosson (8), Bailey Motes (6), Allen Gaston (3), and Clay Hodge (2).
Florence 91, Russellville 70
The Golden Tigers were able to hang right with Florence through three quarters in a fast-paced game Saturday night in Russellville. The Golden Tigers only trailed 65-61 going into the fourth quarter but the Falcons pulled away in the final period outscoring the Golden Tigers 26-9. Taylor Vincent led Russellville in scoring with 16 points. Colby Tompkins (13), Tyler Willis (12) and Austin Stidham (10) also scored in double figures for the Golden Tigers. Cedric Freeman (9), Joshua Seal (7) and Kamar Baugh (3) added points for Russellville.
Russellville 54, Phil Campbell 51
Russellville won a hard-fought battle with Phil Campbell. The two teams swapped the lead in the final quarter with the outcome still in doubt until the final buzzer.
It was in the paint where much of the action took place. Phil Campbell’s Hayden Bell had 25 points in the loss. Russellville’s big man, Austin Stidham, led the Golden Tigers in scoring with 15 points.
Christian Foster had 11 points for Russellville. He was followed by Colby Tompkins (8), Tyler Willis (7), Taylor Vincent (6), Joshua Seal (4) and Kamar Baugh (3).
Peyton Thomas, Jacob Anthony and Hayden Copeland had 6 points apiece for Phil Campbell. Noah Williams and Skyler Tackett each added 4 points.
