BELGREEN – Belgreen High School’s varsity and JV volleyball teams defeated both Tharptown and Belmont in a summer practice match on July 29 at BHS.

Belgreen’s JV, with only one returning player, defeated both teams 2-0.

The varsity, who lost five seniors, took up where they left off at super-regionals defeating Tharptown 2-0 with scores of 25-18 and 25-14.

BHS then defeated Belmont 2-1 with Belmont winning the first set 28-26; however, BHS came back and dominated 25-9 and sealed the win on the last set winning 15-11.

The Lady Bulldogs will be entering their fourth season and look forward to the upcoming year.

“We have a lot of talented young ladies who are ready to get started this season because they have set their goals high, and they understand what it will take to reach those goals,” third-year coach Teresa Whitten said.

Belgreen’s JV and varsity volleyball teams also played Belmont July 31. The JV team won four sets to zero and varsity won five sets to zero. Both teams are 3-0 in the preseason.
