Times’ publication cycle to change Aug. 28

Beginning Aug. 28, the Franklin County Times will return to its traditional Wednesday-only publication cycle.
“This change will allow our team to provide readers and advertisers a more complete and better designed newspaper each week,” Times publisher Jonathan Willis said.
“We are excited to be making this change and are confident our customers and the community will be pleased with the numerous improvements we are making.”
A fresh, easier to read design of the newspaper including expanded content and features will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
“The fresh design will allow us to publish more local news—from local sports and school news to stories covering local government—the news our readers and customers count on us to provide in a fair, ethical and unbiased fashion,” Willis said.
The Franklin County Times website, fct.wpengine.com, will continue to be updated throughout each day.
“Our website is the most popular local website in the community, which is a reflection of how much value our readers place on having immediate access to breaking news and other local stories. More people than ever look to our website to learn what is happening in the community, and we take that responsibility very seriously,” Willis said.
The newspaper also sends a daily news email to thousands of people with headlines and brief synopses of the day’s most important stories. Links in the daily news email quickly take readers to full stories at fct.wpengine.com.  Breaking news emails are also sent when justified, such as weather-related storm warnings. Readers can easily sign up for the daily email by visiting fct.wpengine.com and clicking the “News in your Inbox” button.
Additionally, the newspaper publishes Franklin Living, a quarterly full-color lifestyles magazine focused solely on the people, places and things that make Franklin County unique. Franklin Living has quickly become a must-read for thousands of Franklin Countians.
Local news is also available through the Franklin County Times social media network including Twitter and Facebook.
“We are constantly looking for new ways to enhance our ability to quickly and accurately cover all the events that matter to our community through a product line that serves both our readers and our advertisers in a comprehensive fashion. This change is a positive step with that goal in mind,” Willis said.
