Shirley Faye Oswalt Sparks, 73, of Russellville, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at her residence.

Mrs. Sparks was a lifetime resident of Franklin County and a member of Tharptown Baptist Church.

Her family was the love of her life, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She loved cooking at the church, which was her ministry. God has gotten an angel. Though we will miss her greatly, our loss is Heaven’s gain.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Tharptown Baptist Church with burial in Tharptown Cemetery. Officiating will be Haskel Sparks, Bro. Josh Miller and granddaughter, Whitney Swinney. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. The family received friends at Pinkard Funeral Home Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

Survivors include children, Sheilah Sparks Lane and husband, Lynn, Philip Morris Sparks and wife, Andrea, all of Russellville, and Michael Stefan Sparks and wife, Nikki, Hatton; sisters, Gaynell Oswalt Green, Muscle Shoals, and Sandra Oswalt Lane and husband, Greg, Russellville; grandchildren, Whitney Lane Swinney and husband, Craig, Will Lane and fiancé, Tamera, Kirk Sparks, Tiffany Sparks and fiancé, Trevor, Erika Sparks, Caleb Seay, Caroline Sparks, Gunner Lovelady, Jesy Lovelady; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Will Lane, Kirk Sparks, Craig Swinney, Trevor Hallmark, Randy Sparks, Martin Little, Caleb Seay and Danny Sparks.

Honorary bearer will be Gunner Lovelady.

She was preceded in death by husband, Billy Morris Sparks; parents, Travis and Clarice Oswalt; and nephew, Jason Lane.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Tharptown Baptist Church Building Fund.
