Billy Morris Sparks, 78, Russellville, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Huntsville Hospital.

He lived his entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church. He served on the West Lawrence Water Board, member of Cattleman’s Association and was past Franklin County Commissioner. He was retired from Ford Motor Company.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Russellville, with Eddie Wix, Haskell Sparks and Cliford Miles officiating.  Burial will be in Tharptown Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include wife of 54 years, Shirley Oswalt Sparks, Russellville; children, Sheilah Sparks Lane and husband, Lynn, Russellville, Philip Sparks and wife, Andrea, Russellville, Stefan Sparks and wife, Nikki, Hatton; brothers, Norris Sparks and wife Helen, Jimmy Sparks; sister, Mary Ann Fulmer; grandchildren, Whitney Lane Swinney and husband, Craig, Will Lane, Kirk Sparks, Tiffany Sparks, Erika Sparks, Caleb Seay, Caroline Sparks, Gunner Lovelady, Jesy Lovelady; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Annie Sparks.
