The Belgreen Bulldogs are off to a hot start under new veteran coach Jonathan Raper. After dropping their opener to Dora, the Bulldogs won four straight last week beating Shoals Christian 13-2, East Lawrence 9-7, Smithville (MS) 4-2, and Meek 12-2.

Against Shoals Christian, Ty Hamilton got the win on the mound going three and a third innings. He didn’t allow a hit or run and struck out five.

At the plate, Colton Ashton had three hits, an RBI and scored twice from the leadoff spot. Ethan Dawson singled, doubled, had two RBIs and scored twice. Braden Messer had two hits, a RBI and scored twice. Zed Wilson also knocked in two runs. Rush Berryman had two hits and scored a run. Noah Scott double twice.

Against East Lawrence the top of the lineup’s bats were hot. Ashton had three hits and two RBIs and scored a run. Wilson had four hits, including a double, and five RBIs. Braden Hamilton and Messer scored twice. Dawson and Berryman both scored one run each.

Against Smithville, Ty Hamilton went six innings, allowed five hits, three runs and struck out four to get the win.

Noah Scott had the team’s first home run of the season. Ashton had three hits and scored a run.

Against Meek, the Bulldogs got doubles from Ashton, Dawson, Wilson, and Ty Hamilton.

Wilson had two hits, three RBIs and scored twice. Ashton also scored twice while knocking in a run. Ty Hamilton had two hits, an RBI and scored a run. Berryman had two hits, two RBIs and scored a run.
