Letty Jane Metheney Kennedy, 89, Russellville, passed away on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at her residence.

Letty Jane was born in West Virginia on Sept. 19, 1923. She married Millard Kennedy on March 16, 1946, in Russellville. She was a Christian and a member of the Ligon Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She and Millard had nine children, 19 grandchildren, 35-great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was a loving and nurturing lady.  Everyone was always welcomed in her home and she loved cooking for family, friends, and the unexpected guest. She loved to sing and she wrote several songs for the family.   She also loved to draw.

Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville with Bro. Daniel Welborn officiating. Burial was in Gray Rock Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Kennedy; children, Billie McDaniel, Sammy Kennedy; parents, Samaual and Dorothy Metheney; sisters, Etta Belle, Icy Marie; and brothers, Chaney Monrowe, Dayton William, and Dorsell Henry.

Survivors include daughters, Dean Kennedy, Sue McCullough and daughter, Donna Miles; Becky Bishop and husband Keith and children, Derek and Katy; children of Billie McDaniel (deceased) Peggy Arbogast, Kenneth Williams, and Lynn Moncrief; sons, Charles Kennedy and wife, Sherrie, and children, Diane, Sherry (Stutts), Charlie, Kyle, and Curt; Larry Kennedy and wife, Sandra, and children Jeffery, Joey, and Jeremy; James Kennedy and wife, Sharon, and children Jamey and Kristen (Mason); Roger Kennedy and children, Dr. Lee Kennedy and Amanda; brother, David; sisters, Mary and Genieve; great-grandchildren, Chris Boord, Lauren Dimitrov, Ashley Barnes, Chris Capps, Josh Capps, Jason Graves, Brandon Graves, Jeremy Moncrief, Jonathan Moncrief, Jame’ Tidwell, Rick Kennedy, Jr., Sarah Kennedy, Jacob Kennedy, Alex Miles, Adrienne Miles, Maricca Miles, Hope Melicks, Channing Staten, Cobie Staten, Gage Stutts, Chanc Stutts, Austin Ford, Hazley Kennedy, Cadence Kennedy, Gavin Kennedy, Conner Kennedy, Aiden Kennedy, Kaylen Kennedy, Chase Kennedy, Alaina Kennedy, Bradley Kennedy, Jay Kennedy, Skyler Kennedy, Braxton Kennedy, Madden Mason; great-great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Gavin, Dalton, Braden, Zachary, Colby, Catlynn, Dylan, Sawyer, Gavin, JJ, Robin, Raidyn, Brian, Heavenly Grace, Malachi, Kaden and JC.

The pallbearers were Kenneth Williams, Charlie Kennedy, Joey Kennedy, Jamey Kennedy, Lee Kennedy, and Derek Bishop. Honorary pallbearers were Kyle Kennedy, Curt Kennedy, and Jeremy Kennedy.
