Dorothy Pettit Shotts, 82, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at her residence.
She was born May 28, 1930, in Clare County, Mich. She married Rev. Robert Lee Shotts on Sept. 2, 1948, in Detroit, Mich. They moved to Greenville, S.C,. and most of their married life was spent in Bedford and Crawfordsville, Ind. They moved to North Carolina and then to Michigan where they spent the past 20 years. She was a member of the Nathanael Greene Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution in Greenville, S.C. and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Battle Creek, Mich.
Services were Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Shottsville Community Church. Burial was in Shottsville Cemetery.
Survivors are seven children, Judith Shotts Allen, Greenville, S.C., Juanita Shotts and Lili Cheney, Dowling, Mich., Robin Bishop and Misty Harley, Columbia, S.C., Faith Shotts-Flikkema, Grand Rapids, Mich. and Jonathan Shotts, Hastings, Mich.; one brother, Robert Pettit; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Dr. Ouida Shotts, two sisters and one brother.
