Qualifying for city elections to begin Tuesday

The signs are out in full force this summer, which means one thing – election time is here again.

Qualifying for municipal elections in Russellville, Phil Campbell, Red Bay, Vina and Hodges will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 3 and will end at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 17.

Qualifying papers are available at each of the city halls within the county.

The municipal elections will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 28 and any run-offs will be held on Oct. 9.

Red Bay City Clerk Linda Holcomb said it’s important that anyone who has moved updates his or her voter registration information quickly.
