Jane Ray Bonds Bedford, 78, of Muscle Shoals, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia with Bro. Ted Vafeas officiating.

A private burial service for family members was held at Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Bedford was a native of Hackelburg  and a member of First Baptist Church of Russellville. She was an avid arrowhead collector and taught her sons and daughter to fish and water ski. She loved history and was an avid reader, a fan of the University of Alabama football and served as Chairman of the American Cancer Society of Russellville. She enjoyed her time in Pensacola Beach, Fla., and liked collecting sea shells. She adored her grandchildren, was a great cook and loved to cook for them.

She is survived by her son, Roger H. Bedford Jr. and wife, Maudie Darby Bedford, of Russellville, John Lawson Bedford and wife, Julia Childers Bedford, of Muscle Shoals; daughter, Helen Inez Bedford Roberson and husband, Bill, of Columbia, SC, grandchildren, Roger H. Bedford III of Russellville, Audrey Whyte Bedford and Evan Lawson Bedford of Muscle Shoals.

Pallbearers were Roger Bedford III, Lawson Bedford, Bill Roberson and Robert I. Rogers.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Open Windows Foundation c/o John Davis, 2934 N. Saint Augustine Plaza, Tucson, AZ 85712-1270, or J.J. Cares at North Alabama Animal Clinic, 256-383-2626.
