Russellville girls win TimesDaily Classic

The Russellville Lady Tigers basketball team defeated the Lauderdale County Lady Tigers 53-51 in a hard-fought match to win the first-ever girl’s division of the TimesDaily Classic Tournament.

Russellville won a very close game, only edging out Lauderdale County in the final minute of the contest on Tuesday night in Flowers Hall at UNA.

Taylor Smith, Ashley Dunston, Ayanna McCullough and Amber Elliott all made the All-Tournament team for the Lady Golden Tigers, with Elliott winning tournament MVP for the girl’s side.

The Russellville boy’s team placed second on their side of the tournament, losing to Florence 91-39 in the final.
