Johny Wayne Childers, 76, of Vina, Ala. died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Huntsville Hospital.  He was a native of Marion County, Ala., a football coach and an avid Alabama football fan.  He was a member of Vina First Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Vina First Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Ginn, Bro. Dan Hindman and Shea Lowery officiating.  Burial was in Newburg Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Ala. assisted the family.
He is survived by two daughters, Shea Lowery, of Birmingham, Ala. and Shannon Childers, of Red Bay, Ala.; one sister, Sarah Childers Smith, of Guin, Ala.; three brothers, Haynes Childers and wife, Alene, of Ball Ground, Ga., David Childers and wife, Suzanne, of Birmingham, Ala. and Chester Childers, of Bull Mountain, Ala.; five grandchildren, Randy Lowery, Mandy Morrow, Josh Senkbeil, Kyle Senkbeil and Matt Senkbeil; two great-grandchildren, Aaron Walker Morrow and Dalton Wayne Lowery; step-son, Scotty Joe Lowery, of Russellville, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Chester Childers and Gwendalee Shotts Childers; brother, Max Young Childers; and son-in-law, Jeff Lowery.
Pallbearers were Randy Lowery, Josh Senkbeil, Kyle Senkbeil, Matt Senkbeil, Tyler Morrow, Ken Smith, Jeff Childers and Bill Childers.  Honorary pallbearers were Scotty Joe Lowery, Ricky Tucker, Daryl Aldridge, Bill Moomaw, Jimmy Lee Sparks, L.V. Russell, Tony Shackleford,  Mike Childers, Steve Childers and Craig Smith.
