Early morning raid sends two to jail on drug charges

Two Russellville residents were arrested Thursday morning as the result of a multi-agency drug investigation that took place over the last several months.

Samuel Lewis Hillman, 38, 128 Winfield St., Russellville, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.

Pamela Mae Parrish, 27, Holiday Plaza, Apt. 206B, Russellville, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities said the arrests stemmed from an ongoing drug investigation by the Russellville Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett, officers received several concerned calls from the community about possible drug activity at Hillman’s residence on Winfield Street.

Hargett said officers obtained enough evidence by Wednesday afternoon to obtain a search warrant, which the Franklin County Special Response Team executed at 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators said SRT members confiscated marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a pistol and about $300 worth of crack cocaine.

Hillman and Parrish are both in custody at the Franklin County Jail on bonds $4,500 and $4,000 respectively.
