Robert Eugene “Bob” Stickley, 78, of Russellville, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at his residence.
He was a native of Kalamazoo, Mich., but had lived in Franklin County for the past 32 years. He was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church in Hackleburg. He served in the Army and was a salesman for Dan James Carpets for several years.
He was member of the Arts Council and devoted lots of time to the Roxy Theater. He was a radio announcer for WKAX, music director for Shady Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed being a little league baseball coach and Santa’s little helper.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 26, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville with Bro. Mike Frederick and Bro. Jerry Boyles officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery at Liberty Hill. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include wife, Faylene Stickley, Russellville; children, Rose Bastianse, Portage, Mich., John Stickley, Kalamazoo, Mich., Jim Stickley, Vicksburg, Mich., Barb Lacey, Portage, Mich., Jerry Stickley, Phoenix, Ariz., Rob Stickley, Kalamazoo, Mich.; mother-in-law, Mary Scott, Russellville; stepchildren, Patrick DeVaney, Russellville, Amanda DeVaney, Russellville, Phillip Baker, Mississippi; brothers, Ronald Stickley, Auburn, Calif., Richard Stickley, Lake Oddessa, Mich.; sisters, Mayletta Savacool, Kalamazoo, Mich., Carol Hyde, Kalamazoo, Mich., Marleen Sanford, Kalamazoo, Mich., Norma Gene, Rochester, NY; sisters-in-law, Linda Malone, Russellville; Wanda Wells, Russellville; 12, grandchildren; six, great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by first wife, Lucy Agnes Stickley; parents, Deo and Rosella Stickley; brothers, Raymond and Bill Stickley.
