Mattie L. Smith, 84, of Russellville, Ala. passed away on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010. 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 27, 2010 at Akins Funeral Home with Bro. Lenoard Rigsby                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       and Bro. Phil Dean officiating. Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Shawn Smith, Eric Flanagan, Daniel Smith, Keith Russell, Gary Fretwell, and J.L. McClusky.

She was preceded in death by infant son, Robert Charles Smith; parents, William and Mattie Hargett; sister, Frances Corbell; infant sister, Mamie Hargett.

She is survived by her children, Linda Russell and Bruce, Rebecca McMahan and Wayne, Danny Smith, Stanley Smith, Ray Smith, Joe Smith and Barbara; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Azbury Methodist Church.
