Mary Maxine Ivy, 82, of Red Bay, Ala. passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at the Red Bay Hospital. She was born May 24, 1928 in Mississippi to Robert and Ada Thornton Gahagan.  She attended Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Steve Lindsay and Bro. David Corum officiating.  Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Red Bay.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Chester Ivy, of Red Bay, Ala.; three children, James Hugh Ivy and wife, Andora and Judy Thrasher and husband, David, all of Red Bay, and Jimmy Ivy and wife, Lori, of Sheffield, Ala.; one brother, Hoyt Gahagan, of Corinth, Miss.; five grandchildren, Randall Ivy, Daryl Ivy, Jeremy Ivy, Kristin Ivy and Jennifer Ivy.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Gail Ivy.

Pallbearers were Randall Ivy, Harold Ivy, David Thrasher and Jack Ivy.
