Helping Santa project gets generous donations

When many people think of Christmas, images of children crowded around a beautifully decorated tree come to mind.

For many children, the joy of opening presents around that tree is a reality. For others it is a dream.

The City of Russellville announced recently that it was teaming up with the Helping Santa project to bring toys to the less fortunate children of the community this Christmas.

Residents from around the community have responded by dropping off a toy or two to the worthy cause.

Red Benson and Elmer Hovater took their contributions to another level, combining to donate nearly $2,000 worth of money and toys.

Their generous contributions demonstrate the selfless act that embodies the idea of gift giving at Christmas time.
