Mae Jean Pounders, 81, of Phil Campbell, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at Shoals Hospital.

She lived her entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Spruce Pine.  She was retired from Blue Bell Manufacturing.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Jerome Sherrill and Venlon Bradford officiating.  Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell. 

She is survived by her children, Doris Jean Bradford and husband, Venlon, of Winfield, Ala., Joan Benford and husband, J. M., of Phil Campbell, Steve Pounders and wife, Teresa, of Russellville; grandchildren, Tim Bradford and wife, Michelle, Greg Bradford and wife, Tracy, Amanda George and husband, Karl, Shannon Benford, Brad Pounders and wife, Angie, Brian Pounders, Brittany Blackburn and husband, Stewart; great-grandchildren, Logan, Colin, Graham and Luke Bradford, Sam and Bella Bradford, Summer and Trey George, Ethan and Chandler Benford, Lily and Leah Blackburn, Ellie Pounders, Sydney and Haley Vickery; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Tim Bradford, Greg Bradford, Shannon Benford, Brad Pounders, Brian Pounders, Karl George and Stewart Blackburn.

She was preceded in death by husband, Lenard B. Pounders; parents, John and Florence Shirley; brothers, Grady, Melvin, Orbie Shirley; sisters, Grace Grissom, Ella Rae, Mildren Lane, Beaular Lawler, Velma Pounders and Ruby Watkins.
