Shooting suspect arrested
Authorities have apprehended the man accused of shooting another man in the hand on Oct. 8.
Namath Joe Jackson, 33, of Russellville, was arrested in Waterloo at 11 a.m. Wednesday on charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree assault.
According to authorities, the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force received a tip that Jackson was in Lauderdale County.
The U.S. marshals, Lauderdale County sheriff’s deputies and a district attorney investigator all assisted in the arrest.
“We appreciate the work the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and the other law enforcement agencies did to get to get this suspect in custody,” Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said.
“This is what the marshals are devoted to do and they do a very good job,” Plott said.
Jackson is being held at the Franklin County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
