Got milk? Got money?

By Staff
I love a good milkshake.
I have always loved ice cream. As a child I loved chocolate, but as I’ve grown older, I have learned to appreciate all flavors even the pure taste of vanilla.
Growing up, my brother, Robert, used to make fun of my love for the cold cream.
It’s no surprise my love for ice cream has grown into a love for shakes.
I guess you could say I’m a milkshake connoisseur.
My absolute favorites are the shakes made with hand dipped ice cream.
The shakes with soft serve are okay if you can’t get anything else, but the hand dipped shakes are worth cheating on your diet for.
This weekend, Jimmy and I decided to reward ourselves for our hard work on our diet and exercise routine so we stopped by a new establishment in our town. The new place advertised to have the best shakes in town.
They also advertised the shakes were made with their special gourmet ice cream. I thought, ‘gourmet ice cream. I’ve got to try it.’
So we went through the drive-thru. I got the birthday cake flavor and Jimmy got the Superman.
When the drive-thru lady told us our total, we thought it was a little steep but we decided that it must mean the milkshakes were heavenly.
We were wrong. We got our shakes, and they were basically milk with a little ice cream flavoring.
They were so thin, you could pour them out, and so little ice cream was used that the flavor could not be tasted.
My shake did have little sprinkles from the birthday cake ice cream, but it tasted like milk. Jimmy’s was purple in color but tasted like milk.
We were very disappointed. We decided to drink our expensive milk, and just move on. We will obviously not be getting a milkshake from there again.
Next time, we will just go to Jack’s.
They have the best hand dipped milkshakes, or we will just go to the grocery store and buy ice cream to make our shakes homemade.
While we were very disappointed our treat turned out to be a let-down, we decided it was a good thing because since our shakes didn’t have a lot of ice cream in them, we didn’t cheat after all.
In fact, we had just had an over-priced cup of milk.
