Vina sweeps Waterloo

VINA – Brent Townsend and Morgan McCarley each pitched a two-hit complete game for Vina as the Red Devils swept Waterloo.
Townsend allowed two runs, struck out seven and did not issue a walk in seven innings of work to earn the 7-2 victory in the first game.
McCarley and Nick Schmittou were both 2-for-3 in the game with and RBI and a double while Cody Renfroe singled and drove in a run.
Vina won the second game 13-1 in five innings.
McCarley struck out seven and walked three.
Adam Pharr went 3-for-3 at the plate and recorded two RBIs while Patrick White went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
Clay Pierce was 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Schmittou and Townsend each singled and drove in a run.
With the sweep Vina improves to 5-3 overall and will travel to Brilliant Thursday before returning home to play Decatur Heritage Friday night.
