Police search for missing weapon

The Russellville Police Department is searching for a weapon used in an early Tuesday morning shooting.
No one was injured in the incident.
Police Chief Chris Hargett said two men arrived at a Russellville residence around 2 a.m. Tuesday and got into an altercation over a female.
The two men were outside the house when a woman and her daughter approached the residence.
"The two men shot into the vehicle occupied by two people," Hargett said. "A car chase ensued and the weapon was thrown out of the vehicle during the chase."
Hargett said later that morning Antwan Lamonte Savage, 24, of County Road 15 in Florence and Gynera LaShawn Thomas, 20, of County Road 243 in Florence were apprehended by Muscle Shoals Police and charged with attempted murder.
"Once our investigators got there, it was brought to our attention the weapon that was used thrown from the vehicle somewhere in Russellville," Hargett said.
Hargett said Savage and Thomas are both unsure about the location where they threw the weapon from the car but they know it was in Russellville.
"During the pursuit, these two turned down different roads trying to get away that they don't even know where they threw it out at," Hargett said.
Hargett said city residents should be aware that there is a weapon somewhere in Russellville that could be loaded, and if it is found, the police department should be contacted immediately.
"Our biggest concern this that a kid will find this weapon causing injury to himself or others," Hargett said. "If anyone finds any firearms in the city, contact us immediately, day or night."
