With the cost of everything increasing, everyone is looking for a good deal on everything from clothing to groceries. The Blue Door Thrift Store has deals on clothing of all sizes.
The Blue Door Thrift Store opened this week, and has a good selection of gently used clothing for everyone.
Store Manger Shannon Hintz said all items are washed and dried before going on the shelf.
"Everything we have here is good, clean merchandise," Hintz said. "We have something from everyone here."
The store has clothing for men, women, children, toddler's infants, and other household and entertainment items.
"A lot of people are surprised to find we have wedding gowns and formals here for sale," Hintz said.
Prices on items range from 50 cents to $15. The most expense items are the wedding gowns and formals and they are priced at $15.
All proceeds from the Blue Door Thrift Store will benefit the SCOPE 310 Authority, which is a public agency that works at the local level to give complete emphasis to services for individuals with developmental disabilities. SCOPE 310 provides a wide range of services including intake, case management, day programs, supported employment, supervised living homes, group homes, supported living, and in home care.
The thrift store also provides vocational training opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities and to raise awareness of the organization and our mission. The training includes all areas of retail business and gives adults opportunities to interact with customers and to serve the public.
The thrift store is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and donations are accepted everyday.
