Jack E.H. Barnes, 79, of Russellville, died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at his residence.
He was a trustee of Mt. Star School, Troop 39 leader and co-owner/superintendent of Russellville Cut Stone.
Visitation was Sunday, June 28, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral services were held in the chapel on Monday, June 29. Bro. Dennis Stewart and Bro. Jeff Fleming officiated. Interment was at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by son, Ronnie Barnes and other family members, Zollie Barnes, Joe Barnes, Marie Porter, Wayne Barnes and Patsy Barnes.
He is survived by his wife, Zelma Bernice Reeps Barnes; daughters Rita Hargett, Faye Seal and husband Jeremy; daughter-in-law Sandra Barnes; grandchildren Kevin Ashley, Dustin Hargett, Elizabeth Seal, Laura Seal and Melissa Liles; three great-grandchildren; brothers Stratt Barnes, Bennie Barnes; sister Rachel Thornton, Retha Weems; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.

Mable Lee Spears passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Terrace Manor Nursing Home in Russellville.
She was born December 10, 1915, in Lawrence County but lived most of her life in Phil Campbell. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Phil Campbell.
The funeral service will be Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Ronnie Marbutt and John Stancil officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Chapel Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include son, Charles Spears, and wife, Emma, of Russellville; daughter, Sue Hutcheson and husband, Cecil, of Phil Campbell; granddaughters, Scarlette Spears Studdard and husband, Jeff, of Russellville; Cecilia Hutcheson Madden and husband, Bill, of Cummen, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Emma Cadelyn Studdard and Grayson Ryan Studdard; sisters, Carrie Bea Blankenship, Irene Spears, Nell Hill, all of Moulton; Sue Parker, of Houston; brothers, Bluett Warren, of Decatur, Wayne Warren, of Moulton, and Kelly Warren, of Swainboro, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Jane Spears, of Phil Campbell, and Nita Warren, of Brownsville, Tenn., Vonnie Pugh, of Double Springs; several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Emory Rufus (Pete) Spears; son Coy Edwin Spears; parents, James Luney Warren and Myrtie Arminda Whisenant Warren; stepmother, Clara Snow Warren; sisters Ethel Flannigan, Ruth Coan; brothers, Clark Warren, Carlton Warren, Lennis Warren and Wendell Warren.
